Semi-Permanent Make Up

Microblading is a method of semi-permanent make up specifically for the eyebrows. Microblading is performed by using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the paillary layer (derrmis) because the colour is implanted into the dermis layer of the skin, the strokes appear crisp and fine.

Implanting into the dermis layer of the skin, is what results in microblading being semi-permanent. The unique tools used allow artists to create the look of real, individual eyebrow hairs, by tattooing fine hair-like strokes into the skin.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Semi-Permanent Make Up

  • Is microblading painful?

We apply numbing cream to the area, prior to the treatment for 20-30 minutes. We also apply numbing cream to the area during the treatment. The pain is minimal and feels like a scratch.

  • Does microblading damage your natural hair?

No it does not damage your natural hair. Microblading is only implanted into the dermis layer of the skin. Hair follicles are located much deeper in the skin and are not interrupted during the procedure.

  • Who is a good candidate for microblading?

Microblading is great for clients who have overplucked their natural eyeborw hairs, have naturally sparse eyebrow hairs, have lost their eyebrow hair due to alopecia or chemotherapy.

  • What is the healing process?

The healing process varies between each client based on many factors. Microblading takes 14 days to heal on the surface. The area will be fully healed after 30 days. All clients should expect any of the following: tenderness, swelling, redness, moderate scabbing and fading of the colour. Clients cannot get their eyebrows wet for 14 days after the procedure.

  • How long does microblading last?

This depends on your skin type. Typically microblading lasts anywhere between 1-3 years. Microblading is semi-permanent and is not supposed to stay in the skin long term or forever. Sun exposure can also fade the eyebrows quicker than anticipated.
