FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Warts

  • What causes warts?

Warts are caused by an infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus causes an excess amount of the hard protein keratin, to develop in the top skin layer. The extra keratin produces the rough, hard texture of a wart.

  • Should I use any products before and after treatment?

It’s important that you should stop using any commercially available products to treat the warts 2 weeks before your treatment. This will prevent your skin from becoming over sensitive and reduce the risk of a reaction.

  • Is the treatment painful?

The treatment can be a little uncomfortable but not painful. The treated area will feel warm during this process and for a short time afterwards.

  • What aftercare will I need?

Aftercare will be discussed during the consultation and after each treatment.

  • Will the area heal quickly?

As usual with Thermolysis Wart Removal Treatment, you’ll experience a warm feeling immediately after the process has taken place. In the days that follow, you’ll notice scabs beginning to form – simply leave these to heal over a period of around 2 weeks.

  • What are the next steps?

To get started on your treatment journey, the first step is to book a free consultation with us. This will provide us an opportunity to answer any questions you have and discuss a treatment plan.

  • How many treatments will I need?

You might need to return for some follow-up treatment. No more than two appointments are usually needed, normally around 4 weeks apart.
